The meeting of the PIRLS 2021 Coordinators from the Western Balkans countries was held 13-14 December 2018 in Bratislava. The meeting was hosted by the International Association for Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) with attendee such as Andrea Netten, IEA Director, Paulina Koršňáková, Senior Researcher and External Associate, and PIRLS Coordinators from the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.
Discussed were the role of coordinator, history of PIRLS study in the Western Balkan countries, sampling and upcoming tasks.
Participants exchanged experiences on implementing former PIRLS cycles and ways to organize a field test in 2020. It is expected that all Western Balkan countries share their materials and provide generous support to the wide-ranging PIRLS 2021 survey.
