On 1st and 2nd March, 2023, a round table of EPALE national support services (hereinafter NSS) took place in Ljubljana, attended by NSS team members from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and North Macedonia. Together, we prepared developed the idea and plan for the next EPALE regional conference, the VII in a row, which will take place on 10th and 11th November this year in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The content of the regional conference will be coloured in the spirit of the European Year of Skills, so the program will include topics such as transversal skills, vouchers in adult education, policies and practices of working with low-skilled adults, examples of good practices in adult education and key competences of adults among which are competences for the green and digital transition.
Like previous years the regional EPALE conference will have a multilingual tune this year too. Languages are what brings us, partners in the regional cooperation, together in addition to shared history and geographical proximity. Thus, at the event, we will be able to listen to the contributions and panel discussion of experts from six regional countries and participate in interactive workshops. Not only the speakers but also the conference participants will be international; experts, researchers, practitioners, policy makers and other key stakeholders in the field of adult education.
The joint regional conference is only one of the forms of regional cooperation, with which we want to maintain and encourage discussion between experts from the countries of the region about the current state and future development of adult education in all countries. The conference itself will provide a space for sharing good practices and mutual learning.
