The Agency for pre-primary, primary and secondary education and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska on the initiative of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina as the coordinating body, held a meeting in Sarajevo on promoting the cooperation in the field of education with a special emphasis on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s participation in international research. On this occasion, the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska was represented by Nataša Cvijanović, the assistant minister for preschool and primary upbringing and education, the Agency was represented by the director Maja Stojkić and deputy director Aida Terzić, while the conductor of the meeting, in the name of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was Adnan Husić, the assistant minister of civil affairs.
During the meeting it was pointed out that our country’s participation in international research is one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s obligations in the process of European integration and that the implementation of measures based on the results of international research, as well as ensuring the continued participation of our country, is one of the recommendations of the European Commission.
The participants of the meeting agreed that it is necessary to ensure a continued participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in international research and evaluations and committed themselves, in the subsequent period, to take actions which will lead to fulfilling the European Commission recommendations in order to enable monitoring the advancement in the field of education, increase the visibility and comparison the education system of Bosnia and Herzegovina with other countries in the region of the Western Balkans and beyond.
