The Agency for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Education held a round table: Improving the Quality of Preschool Education – Recommendations from International Surveys in Education in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina on December 8, 2022 in Sarajevo.
The aim of the round table was to inform the professionals and partners on recommendations from international education surveys conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which relate to early learning, and importance of applying the common core of comprehensive development programs and standards of quality work in preschool care and education, in an effort to improve the quality of early and preschool education in BiH.
As the Agency systemic response to the reform processes and international surveys in education recommendations, presented was the document: Preschool Institutions Standards of Quality Work, as a means to create a positive atmosphere for investment in the quality preschool care and education for all children of preschool age in Bosnia and Herzegovina, without exception.
At the round table presented were also: Recommendations for Early Learning from International Survey Reports (PISA 2018 and TIMSS 2019) and Guidelines for the Implementation of the Common Core of Comprehensive Development Programs to the representatives of UNICEF BiH, ministries of education, pedagogical institutions, entity professional associations of educators, and academic community in BiH.
A constructive discussion on presented scientific evidence and documents resulted in conclusions on practices and possibilities of ensuring and improving the quality of institutional early and preschool education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
