The first regional meeting for Active Learning Trainers (AUN program), organized by the Educational Forum from Belgrade, was held in Zlatibor, 5 -7 October 2018. The event was attended by over 80 trainers from the AUN program from Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The goals of the meeting were:
- Briefing on AUN program in current social and political circumstances
- Briefing on implementing the Active Learning (AUN)
- Deepening the understanding on AUN in modern social and educational context
- AUN experts networking and regional cooperation incentives
Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by AUN program instructors who had completed seminars and trainings in 2011 and 2012 organized by the Agency for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Education and supported by the OSCE, under the expert guidance of professors: Dr. Ivan Ivić, Dr. Ana Pešikan and Ms. Slobodanka Antić.
In the previous period, most BiH trainers realized necessary internships for active learning in order to spread the idea of active learning towards teachers in BiH. Ms. Branka Popić, an AUN instructor, represented the Agency for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Education at the regional meeting. The ideas of active learning can be included in the processes of improving the education systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina and thus introduced to teachers with purpose of their integration into the curricula.
