European Vocational Skills Week 2019 is a major European event organized annually by the European Commission in the capital of the country holding the EU Presidency. On the occasion, all major European initiatives and programs of the European Commission in the field of adult education and training organize meetings, conferences and excellence awards ceremonies.

The event hosted a meeting of national coordinators for implementation of the European Agenda for Adult Learning (EAAL), having been realized in BiH by the Agency for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Education for five years now. The meeting was held in Helsinki on October 14 and 15, 2019 and a representative of the Agency had the opportunity to attend accompanying conferences and participate in a one-day study visit to an adult education facility.

The EAAL coordinator’s meeting was part of the regular exchange of experience. This time the theme was: Flexible Learning Programs, How to Make It Work. Presented was an effective Scandinavian model on adult learning along with a new initiative of non-formal learning in Poland while discussed was the Council of Europe’s recommendation ‘Upskilling Pathways – New opportunities for adults.’
