National Support Services (NSSs) EPALE from 35 European countries gathered on May 26, 2023 in Brussels for the annual NSS conference. The event was organised by the EPALE Central Support Service. The aim of the conference was to present the results of the project so far and to plan the next activities during the current project cycle implementation by NSSs, as well as to improve the performance of the EPALE platform. On behalf of the Agency and the NSS team EPALE from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the national coordinator of the EPALE project in BiH, Mr. Siniša Gatarić and EPALE administrator and content manager, Mrs. Daria Mršić attended the event.

The conference was opened by a representative of the European Commission, Mr. Wilhelm Vukovich, who emphasized the importance of the role of NSS EPALE teams in providing support to the community of professionals in the field of adult education across Europe. Also, he highlighted the significance of the role of EPALE project in the year 2023, which has been officially declared as the Year of Skills, as well as NSS EPALE teams from all over Europe which will certainly give a great contribution to the promotion of skills for life and work throughout the year.

The opening session by the EU Commission representative was followed by a presentation session in which NSSs presented and announced the events that will be organized at national levels as supporting side events to the annual EPALE Community Conference 2023 in the period 10-12 October, 2023.

In the plenary session of the conference, the participants had the opportunity to hear an inspiring presentation of the key-note speaker Ilona Kish, a director at Public Libraries 2030, who spoke about the role of modern libraries in the field of adult education and lifelong learning, as well as the importance of building a stronger network of modern libraries in Europe.

In the final session of the conference, during the workshop, the participants had the opportunity to give their contribution in building a better quality system in terms of content on the EPALE platform, as well as the translation of content into 32 languages. This event was another opportunity to achieve better results through joint work and create even stronger support that EPALE National Services provide to the adult education community across Europe.
