Upon the initial meeting and exchange of experience on inclusion in education between the Agency for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Education and representatives of CIDREE (Consortium of Institutions for Development and Research in Education in Europe) pursued were activities on developing the Guidelines for Inclusive Education.
The first such activity was a meeting of the Agency representatives with the experts who are to develop the guidelines, during which a methodology and a work calendar were elaborated along with a detailed plan of activities. Determined was for the guidelines to define the scope of support that details the ways of support, not the types and degree of disability.
At the first meeting of the working group for developing the guidelines, the experts introduced a working methodology with the three important tasks for the members of the working group – analysis of the legislation relevant to the research subject, fieldwork (field research through focus groups at five sites) and proposing a document structure. Decided was also the research sample should include the assistant ministers of education, educators, teachers, professors and representatives of parent and school councils.
Developed was an assignment schedule for analysing the documentation around Bosnia and Herzegovina along with the questions for a semi-structured interview of 90 minutes in five identified locations that will cover all ministries of education in gathering their opinions and views on inclusion.
The Agency plans to draft the Guidelines for Inclusive Education by 18.2.2020.
